4 travel experiences to consider for your honeymoon – Wedamor

questions to ask your partner

There are so many fantastic things to try and places to explore around the world that it can often be overwhelming to choose what to do on your honeymoon these days.

It is a big decision to choose a special location to celebrate your new status as Mr and Mrs, and a rare opportunity to share some quality time together.

Therefore, many people look for an experience holiday they can share together; where they get involved in an activity that is a once in a lifetime treat. It could be something memorable that they have always wanted to do or an experience that is unusual or intriguing to them.

So, if you happen to be planning your honeymoon right now, luckily for you we have put together four of the most amazing trips from around the world:

Attending an Indian wedding

A vibrant country with iconic landmarks, beautiful food and multiple cultural experiences at your fingertips, India is guaranteed to be the holiday of a lifetime for any newlyweds.

But how about experiencing a magnificent Indian wedding as part of your tour? Fresh from the excitement of your own wedding, you can carry on the high of the big day by attending somebody else’s!

You can enjoy the rituals of Sangeet – where the bride and groom’s families mingle – then the following day be fully immersed in all of the wedding ceremonies, including the Jaimala (exchanging of garlands) and the Havan (or lighting of the sacred fire).

You will have traditional dress provided for you so you can be fully involved in the wonderful experience of a real Indian wedding. It goes without saying, of course, that the food at Indian weddings is truly legendary!

Canoeing through the Amazon Rainforest

Exploring one of the world’s most intriguing places, you will be greeted by the sounds of the rainforest – from the animals that call it home to the majestic trees standing tall. It is not just within one country but spread across several – although Brazil plays home to a large proportion of it.

Sit back in a canoe, relax, and listen to the sounds of nature. This is one of those moments you can reflect back on in later life as you pinch yourself that you have really been to one of the most talked about places on earth.

This is also where some of the world’s most endangered animals make their home. So a glimpse of one of them has to be worth the journey! Spider monkeys, sloths and jaguars – just to name a few – are some of the Amazon’s dwellers, and the toucan is also a famous inhabitant due to its bright and colourful appearance.

Discover giant pandas in China

While we’re on the subject of animals, if you’re an animal loving couple – or even if you just appreciate the culture of different countries – then this is one for you.

Pandas have long been considered a symbol of China. They are thought to represent peace and friendship, and they’re also associated with the yin and yang symbol due to their black and white colouring.

Exploring the country they mean so much to is an experience in itself. But visiting the Chengdu Panda Research base, where just over 80 of them are being protected with the aim of increasing the numbers, is an incredible treat indeed.

Chengdu is an extraordinary place which is set up to recreate their natural habitat with lots of green, open spaces. And there are also a few red pandas who inhabit the surroundings too. What a magical experience for you as a couple to see these huge, gentle creatures that are so rare and (hopefully) play a small part in ensuring their survival. That would certainly be a honeymoon memory to look back on with pride in years to come.

Climb Mount Everest

If you’re always on the lookout for adventure and consider yourself very active, then you probably don’t want to lounge about by a pool on your honeymoon. So, what better way to celebrate your nuptials than by climbing the world’s highest mountain?

Explore the highest post office on earth, and visit the monks before you depart, as you embark upon your journey to base camp.

8848 metres above sea level, Everest is a breathtaking sight to behold. Just taking in the beauty of the mountain itself is a memory you can treasure forever, but conquering her together with your partner will be something you won’t forget in a hurry.
