Congratulations on getting married!

Remember, the time before your wedding day may be filled with various responsibilities, but this is still the time when you should be happy and enjoying yourself. It’s true that there’s plenty to do when you prepare and organize for your wedding, but if you let the stress consume you, you won’t feel the beauty and magnificence of your big day. This is your important memory and wonderful experience, and the best thing you could do for yourself is to remain calm. But how to fight the anxiety, you may wonder?

The following “hacks” can help you with that.

1. Forget about the DIYs

There’s nothing wrong with wedding DIYs, far from it. What’s more, these creative little projects can help you turn this day into your true dream wedding. But, if you’ve already decided that you’ll DIY some aspects of the wedding, be it décor or accessories or something else, make sure that you have appointed help. For starters, all DIYs should be finished before the big day. But, even if they’re not, you shouldn’t be the one worrying about it right before and on your wedding day. This is where the person(s) who are helping you should step up and take over the work if necessary. That said, don’t hesitate to ask for their assistance if there’s more to be done.

2. Starving yourself is never the answer

It’s perfectly fine to take up some exercising and even balance out your diet to look your best for your wedding day, but if you starve yourself before the wedding and even refrain from eating properly during the big day, you won’t be able to enjoy yourself at all. There are many consequences for eating poorly, both mental and physical. You’ll become weak and tired, while your mood can change in an instant. Snippy and nervous behavior is not something you’d like for your wedding day, is it? In the worst-case scenario, you can even faint. That said, make sure to eat properly before the big day and feel free to let loose a bit at the wedding – after all, it’s yours to enjoy!

3. Choose your favorite look before the wedding

If you think about it, you usually try several different wedding dresses before you find the right one. The same goes for shoes. So, why not do the same with your makeup looks? You may not even think about that now, but it’s not uncommon for brides-to-be to get really stressed out on their big day when they realize they don’t quite like the makeup look. Luckily, these days you can simply go to platforms such as Find Book Beauty and get access to the best professional makeup artists. In this case, you’re limited to the Sydney area, but even if you don’t live there, you can still apply the same practice. That way, you can try out different professionals and makeup styles until you find something, and someone, you’re perfectly content with.

4. Remember – you need your sleep

Sleeping in or sleeping too little can cause problems for your big day. It’s essential that you get a good night of rest before the wedding. If you’re tired, you won’t feel good and you may find your under-eyes unflattering as well. On the other hand, don’t drink too much or stay up late for your rehearsal the night before. That way, you won’t oversleep and won’t be late for your proper bridal prep. Keep in mind that you need at least 8 hours of sleep to function properly, so if you have to get up at 7 in the morning, make sure to go to bed around 11 pm the night before.

5. Don’t compromise your calmness by arguing

It’s understandable that you’re emotional for your big day, but if you make it a point not to get irritated about the little things or actually argue with other people, you’ll feel much better as well. A bit of positive nervousness is fine, but if you let anyone stress you out (especially considering that no one would probably do that on purpose), the negativity will affect you more than you might think. This is your big day and you have the right to relax and take things easy.

Making plans and trying to organize everything according to those plans can help you in some ways, but you also need to keep in mind that nothing ever goes according to plan 100%. So, instead of trying to micromanage everything for your big day and getting stressed over potential changes, embrace the positive attitude. Ask for help, delegate responsibilities and, most importantly, have fun with everything!
